I accept print ARCs, finished copies and electronic ARCs as well as finished e-books. They may be indie pressed, self-published or published by a firm. If the book is a part of a series, then I may need the previous book(s).
My blog concentrates on LGBTQIA+/MOGAI books, but I will accept non-LGBTQIA+ books if I think I will like them.
I am NOT accepting books in the following genres:
- Free verse novels
- Sci Fi
If I accept a book for review, that does not guarantee a review.
I will make every effort to read and review in a timely fashion and with regard to release dates, but I cannot guarantee this. I prefer to receive a book at least 1 month prior to when you would like the review posted.
I write fair and honest reviews, but this does not mean I will always write positive reviews. My reviews are my opinion, and if I don’t enjoy a book then my review will reflect that.
With that said, I strive to explain why the book in question did not work for me personally. I do NOT write nasty or snarky commentary about the author.
If I do not finish a book I may write an explanation for DNF-ing. These explanations are different from standard reviews and will state that I did not finish the book, what page I read up to and why I did not finish.
All reviews will include the following:
- Cover art
- Star rating
- trigger warnings
- My opinion about the book
- Notice, if I received it for free in exchange for a honest review
(A big thanks to http://smallreview.blogspot.de for the tips on how to write a review policy!)
If you are unsure how to approach me, please feel free to read this blog post I wrote about requesting reviews.
Thanks to a lot of emails, that clearly indicated that my review policy was not read or ignored, I feel forced to to this:
If the email subject is not “Review request of *Title of your book* for Books to get lost in” I will delete the email without replying to it. I waste a lot of time with replying to emails of people who clearly have not read my review policy/send mass emails. And I want to use this energy and time for you and your book.
If you think your book might be of interest to me, you can mail me your request.
